I’m Alex, a Director of Photography, Camera & Drone Operator, with over 15 years of experience working in high-end documentary, entertainment and branded content.

I started my career as a Camera Assistant, working my way up through some of the biggest productions in the industry for leading broadcasters and streaming platforms.

Spending most of this time working on high-end documentaries gave me an incredible grounding in cinematography, from understanding cameras and lenses inside out, to lighting, composition and, just as importantly, knowing how to work as part of a crew.

Over the years, I’ve built my own professional camera, lighting and drone kit and made the move into shooting and leading projects as a Director of Photography. I now travel internationally, working mainly across branded content and entertainment, creating cinematic images in some pretty extraordinary places.

I’ve shot through sandstorms in the Empty Quarter, battled the heat and humidity of the Amazon rainforest and worked in plenty of environments where things don’t always go according to plan. I’m comfortable in those situations. staying calm, adapting quickly and finding creative solutions while making sure the job gets done.

For me, being a DOP isn’t just about making beautiful images. It’s about understanding the story, working closely with the director and client, and creating a visual approach that actually serves the project. I enjoy the collaboration as much as the shooting itself.

Outside of work, I’m a dad to two young girls. They keep me grounded, keep me busy and make coming home from all the travelling incredibly special.

I’ve spent the last 15 years building towards where I am now, and I’m genuinely proud of that journey.
